Family Management
Spolog's family feature lets parents view their children's match and training schedules in one place from their own account. After creating a family circle, you can see your own activities and all your children's schedules combined on the Home screen and Calendar, with each person shown in a unique color, making it easy to organize and keep track of the whole family's sports schedule.
Feature Overview
- Create a Family Circle: Parents create their own family and invite children to join via a QR code or an 8-character invite code.
- Automatic Schedule Integration: The matches and training sessions your children maintain in their own accounts are automatically organized into the parent's Home "Upcoming / Recent Activities" and Calendar.
- Color Coding for Each Person: Each family member is shown in a fixed color (parents in blue, each child with a unique color), so you can tell at a glance whose activity each entry belongs to.
- Read-Only View: Children's activity data is read-only for parents, keeping the data safe.
- Per-Child Toggle Control: You can choose, for each child, whether to "Show on Home & Calendar".
How to Access
Switch to the "Settings" tab at the bottom of the app and look for the "Family Management" section.
How to Create a Family Circle and Invite Your Child
The following steps are for the parent:
- Go to "Settings" β "Family Management".
- Tap the "Add Child" button.
- The app generates a QR code and an 8-character alphanumeric invite code, then shows the invite screen.
- Have your child scan the QR code in their own Spolog app, or manually enter the invite code.
- The invite code expires automatically after 24 hours and can only be used once. To get a new one, tap "Regenerate Invite Code" in the invite code section.
How Your Child Joins the Family
The following steps are for the child:
- Go to "Settings" β "Family Management" β "Scan Family Invite Code".
- Use the camera to scan the parent's QR code, or manually enter the 8-character invite code.
- The app shows a confirmation message: "[Parent's Name] wants to view your activity data in Spolog. Allow?" (The inviter's actual name is displayed.)
- Tap "Allow" to join the family. If you do not want to be viewed, choose "Deny".
- After joining successfully, you will see a "Joined Family" confirmation screen.
Once your child joins, you will receive a notification, and the child will appear in your family member list.
Manage Children
Tap "Manage Children" on the Family Management screen to do the following:
- View Profile: Tap a child's name to view their profile and activity stats (number of matches / training sessions).
- Show on Home & Calendar: Each child has a toggle that controls whether their schedules are combined into your Home screen and Calendar (enabled by default).
- Remove Child: Tap the red remove button and confirm to remove the child from your family. You will no longer be able to view that child's schedules.
Organizing Your Child's Schedule
Once a child joins the family and "Show on Home & Calendar" is enabled, their schedules are automatically combined with yours in two places:
- Home: The "Upcoming" and "Recent Activities" sections list the matches and training sessions of you and all your children, sorted by time, with a person badge marking whose activity each entry belongs to.
- Calendar: The month/week date cells show colored dots for the day's activities (one color per person), and the timeline below shows the detailed schedule for the day, also distinguished by person color.
Since children's data is read-only, parents cannot create or edit schedules on their child's behalf. Children need to create and maintain their own matches and training sessions in their Spolog account, and these will sync automatically to your view.
Viewing Your Child's Schedule Details
Tapping a child's activity from either the Home screen or the Calendar opens a detail page. Because these activities are view-only, the detail page shows a "Read-Only Mode" badge, and the related edit and settings buttons are hidden to prevent accidental changes to your child's data.
Family Member Limit
The number of family members per family depends on your subscription plan:
- Free plan: Up to 3 members per family.
- Basic plan: Up to 3 members per family.
- Pro / Premium plans: Unlimited family members.
If you have reached the limit, a message will appear when adding a child, and you will need to upgrade your plan to add more members.
Privacy & Permissions
- Children must actively allow parents to view their activity data; they are never forced to join.
- Parents can only read their children's schedules, not modify them. Write access belongs to the data owner only.
- Each child's display color stays the same even after restarting the app, making it easy to track over time.
